Frequently Asked Questions
Your first visit is 90 minutes and includes a full intake conversation about your health history and goals, followed by your first acupuncture treatment. Follow-up visits are 60 minutes. Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing.
Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and solid, not hollow like injection needles. Most people feel little to no discomfort — occasionally a brief pinch or dull ache at insertion, which fades quickly.
It depends on your condition and goals. Some people notice a difference after one or two visits; others benefit from a series of weekly sessions. We'll discuss a recommended plan after your initial visit and adjust as you progress.
Lively Vibe is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. We accept cash, major debit/credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. A superbill is available on request for services you actually attended, which you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement — we can't guarantee reimbursement, since that depends on your specific plan.
Often, yes. Acupuncture and electroacupuncture may qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement when used to treat a medical condition diagnosed by your primary care provider. We recommend getting a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) — especially helpful for chronic pain, migraines, or stress-related conditions — and we're happy to help document your diagnosis and treatment plan. Laserpuncture, herbal medicine, and retail products are not HSA/FSA-eligible. Please confirm your plan's rules with your HSA/FSA administrator.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Your first late cancellation or no-show is a one-time courtesy waiver at no charge; after that, a $50 fee applies, for both single visits and package visits (package patients keep their prepaid visit — the fee is charged instead). See the New Patients page for full policy details.
Because you pay for your own care, federal law gives you the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when you schedule, or on request. If your bill ends up at least $400 more than your estimate, you may dispute it — see cms.gov/nosurprises for details.
Yes, for consultations, herbal medicine management, and symptom check-ins — hands-on treatment like acupuncture can't be delivered by telehealth. You must be physically located in Washington State at the time of your telehealth appointment.
We want every patient to feel welcome and comfortable in our space. If you have an accessibility need, please contact us before your visit so we can prepare and let you know what to expect — see our Accessibility Statement or the New Patients page for how to reach us.
